Feeling the Christmas Spirit with Carols & Wine
Wednesday 17th December 2025
It was a chill but clear night for the St Winnow Church Carols by the River Service. A happy band of carolers sat around the brazier and sang with great enthusiasm! Afterwards hot chocolates and mulled wine were welcome and, whilst mince pies were consumed and a number of St Eval scented candles purchased from the shop for Christmas presents, people chatted and enjoyed the lovely Christmas decorations in the church. the Friends of St Winnow raffle prize was also drawn and the winner will be called shortly - if your name is Nige, you may be in luck....
What a lovely service once again! If you missed it, do watch out for next year, as it's a real highlight of the St Winnow calendar.
Revd Sheila Bawden was unable to come this year and we send her and Bernice much love. Our thanks to Canon John Halkes for stepping in, and the merry band of churchwardens and helpers who gave us such a feast. Last but by no means least, Chris Short who stepped into the shoes of Adrian and played so beautifully.
